クリーブランド出身で、現在はニューヨークはブルックリンを拠点に活動しているプロデューサー／DJ。Young MaleとDJ Richardによって設立されたWhite Materialから2013年にデビューEP『Tape 22』をリリースし、その後Yaeji、Helm、CFCF、Ben UFO等も参加している実験ミックス・テープ・プロジェクトBlowing Up The Workshopから発表したミックス『100% Galcher』がResident Advisorのその年の年間ベスト・オンライン･ミックスに選出され、一躍ニューヨーク地下ダンス・ミュージック・シーンの中心へと躍り出る。翌年にはTsuba Recordsから『Nu Day』と『Remixes』の２作のEPをリリース。2015年には自身のレーベルLustwerk Musicを立ち上げ、『I Neva Seen』と『Parlay』のEPも発表した。2017年にはWhite Materialからファースト・アルバム『Dark Bliss』を、翌2018年には自身のLustwerk Musicからセカンド・アルバム『200% Galcher』リリースした。様々なアーティストからもリスペクトを受け、ビートダウン〜ヒップ・ハウスの雄としてシーンの中核を担っている。2018年には初来日も果たした。

Galcher Lustwerk started making music in Cleveland, Ohio in the late 90’s and DJing in Rhode Island in the mid-00’s, followed soon by a move to his current home of New York. His 2013 promo mix of original tracks, 100% GALCHER, along with his first 12″ Tape 22 for White Material Records, put him on the map. He soon found himself DJing around the world while releasing tracks and remixes for Ghostly, NDATL, Tsuba, R&S, Rekids, and Lobster Theremin.

In 2015 Galcher started his own label, Lustwerk Music, to satisfy demand for his unreleased material. In 2016 the label released the critically acclaimed album of collaborative jams with Alvin Aronson under the group name Studio OST. In 2017, White Material released Lustwerk’s debut album, Dark Bliss, a retrospective of past work presented in a condensed format, introducing elements of funk and harsh noise to his repertoire. Less than a year later, Galcher returned with 200% GALCHER, a 20 track sprawl of funky, stream of consciousness hip-house tracks. Psychedelic and mysterious, Galcher’s tracks are the perfect soundtrack to an after-hours rendezvous, with lyrics that capture the joy and pain of club life with all the nuances in between.
